US Prez Trump’s son-in-law takes houseboat ride in Alappuzha
Alappuzha (Keralam) [India], August 8 US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and businessman Michael Boulos made an unexpected trip to Alappuzha on Saturday and enjoyed a houseboat excursion in the backwaters amid intense monsoon rains. Arriving in Alappuzha with an eight-person group, Boulos was granted State Guest status during his visit to Kerala. The main entrance to Punamada Lake was inundated due to the district’s recent high rains, so the police had to arrange for Boulos to be transported to the houseboat from a different site. Boulos seemed to enjoy his tryst with the renowned backwaters of Kerala despite the bad weather. When word got out, he would always wave to those who had gathered on the houseboat’s deck. According to sources, Boulos is anticipated to return to Kochi later today. Days before Alappuzha is ready to host the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, one of Kerala’s most renowned athletic and cultural events, on August 22, the visit takes place. This year’s main guest is anticipated to be Congressman Rahul Gandhi. The esteemed contest bears the name of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India and great-grandfather of Rahul Gandhi. Pandit Nehru was so pleased by the experience of jumping in a traditional snake boat during his visit to Alappuzha in 1952 that, upon arriving in Delhi, he gave a trophy for a boat race. Born in Houston and reared in Lagos, Boulos is the spouse of Donald Trump’s daughter, Tiffany. He wed Tiffany in 2022, and in May 2025, the couple welcomed their first child.
